I think that the point of O'Shay's show is that it is real. They don't
catch things prior to filming and toss them in front of the camera. Many of
the greatest shots on Irwin's show are captive animals strategically placed
on rocks near the camera and in the direction he or Terri are walking....
not all... but many are. I like that O'Shay does not always get the target
as it is quite realistic that way. anyone who has ever been in the field
will tell you that things are rarely where they are supposed to be and if
you have one sure thing to catch... it will not be there that day. if the
goal of the film-makers is to make a show about one animal or another, then
do a fake shot of one or two in a cage and maybe tether one to a log so it's
sure to be in the shot with the star... but if the point is to be about the
LOOKING for something and effort involved, then not finding it is just as
interesting and much more realistic.
