Well folks the Stenodactylus confusion has once again manifested itself:
http://www.kingsnake.com/market/gecko/messages/4686.html
the following day revised as:
http://www.kingsnake.com/market/gecko/messages/4698.html
This time the "Egyptian Cat-eyed Geckos" have been reduced to mere
"Stenodactylus sthenodactylus" - (?!?!?!@#$%??)
Now, for the punch line (has everyone been listening?):
What do you guys think these are? S. stheno.'s? S. petrii? S. doriae?
C. orientalis? I'm interested to hear the opinions start flying - which
will most likely provide myself (or anyone else) sufficient reason to write
a Stenodactylus article and submit it to every publishing organization on
mother earth - starting with GEKKO of course.
Whatever you think they are, rest assured that the vernacular has just been
redirected to "Desert-painted ground screamers". They're not Egyptian
Cat-eyeds anymore (hey, what about the populations in Libya - new
species?), and they are not Dinky-Dumpy-Desert-Dwellers either. They're
D.P.G.'s from now on. (the male on the advert goes by the extended
vernacular "tripod"). I hear Julie comes up with some new designer morph
names - let's hear it Julie?
