I saw his add the first day and alerted him that those are not Stenodactylus
but Crossobamon orientalis. Here is the reply.
"Please check your references about that. That species has comb like things
on their toes. If you know a good site with the information please e-mail
it to me" He was very polite and I wish to present that, he obvoiusly wants
information. Please let us not bring trash to his name. However, he got me
because I have never read a formal description on either species.
My "Crossobamon" look identical to the ones pictured and they have combs on
their fingers and toes. I didn't even need a magnifying glass to see them.
As do the Stenodactylus petrii I know have. In the Geckoes book, does it not
say Stenodactylus have combs in their feet to allow them to stay aloft on the
fine desert sand? Someone check, I allowed my English teacher to borrow mine
so she could understand a paper I wrote.
Also, isn't true this "form" of "Crossobamon orientalis" has not been
properly identified? I think we need to identify this now.
I took some measurements, but its late, I'm tired and they were done with a
meter stick when the animals are 11cm at the largest. These animals are VERY
similar.
I'm going to have pictures taken and measurements taken with more precise
equipement this week.
Anyone wondering about the care of the "Crossobamon" I've found them to be
difficult and VERY picky.
