I look for those smudge pot backyard lanterns that are a bamboo pole
with a tin can with a wick in the top. I just cut the tin can off and
use the bamboo. It has been varnished on the outside, but it has never
caused me any problems. Just clean it up well. You can usually find the
lanterns on sale for $3 - $6 each. They yield about 4-5 feet of bamboo.
I buy cork tiles at a home improvement center and glue them to the back
of all my gecko tanks. I also buy pieces of cork bark and lean them up
against the back or into corners vertically for hiding places.
