Hi Pablo.

Since I read that most of the experts are elsewhere, I thought I'd put in my
2 cents' worth.

I don't know about zinc, except that geckos are certain to need it in trace
quantities which is probably provided by your cricket diet. Other than
that, you'll have to ask the experts.

As I understand it, vitamin D3 is required to metabolize calcium. I guess
if you're keeping diurnal specie, you need to supply UVB light which, I
think, produces D3. Should be in a wide-spectrum daylight bulb with the
correct spectral values. There are many bulbs for mini coral reef
applications that would be great.

Actually, I forget exactly what diurnal means and I don't have a dictionary
handy. The point is, if your gecko is active during the day, I think it
needs UVB. If it is nocturnal, than you have to supply Vitamin D3 with the
calcium in order for it to metabolize the calcium. There!

Anyone who has ever advised me about leopard geckos has recommended both
Miner-all and Calcium with D3.

On the point of the calcium requirements of day-active geckos, I just don't
know. Generally, as you say, I think juveniles need more calcium than
adults. I suppose there is a lot of calcium in lizards' skin, as well as
their skeleton. Sorry I can't help more on this one.

Steve
