The big question I have is how do
nocturnal herps get D3. The full moon light is hard for me to buy since I have
done a lot of night driving and there is never the abundance you find on dark
nights. And how much UVB does the moon put out? Our visit to the red desert
of Australia was not too productive on the moon-lit nights, but great on the
dark nights...geckos galore! I know many species of wild nocturnal geckos come
out in the day for short periods, perhaps not needing as much D3 as other
heliothermic reptiles. Snaked can acquire it from prey. I believe this is a
factor, but I am interested in feedback.
Thanks,
Kevin
