I live 8 blocks from ground zero. I have lost friends. I have not spoken on
this list in a very long time. It was a moronic stupidity that perpetrated
the mass murder. Any stereotyping, any fingerpointing at any religion or
race for this crime is part of the crime itself. Learn from what we did to
Japanese Americans. It is so easy tocry havoc after the fact. Prevention
and intelligence and retaliation against stupidity and hatred are the only
solutions. Every hero I have met out on these streets in the last few days
were people who were quiet and determined and not mouthing off about revenge
against generalities. They were very specific. Their goals were to save
lives. I suggest we make that our goal as well.
