Hi Julie & Magnus, Thanks for explaining the seizure. I thought he was just "playing dead", thinking I was a predator. I have already done the following things to try to correct the situation for him: 1) Brought him inside so I can keep him warmer 2) Bought a reptile UV fluorescent to put over his cage 3) Ordered tiny crickets so I can dust them with HerpCare Cricket Dust for him. They arrive on Wed.
Anything else I should do for him in the meantime? Thanks for helping, Anna >From: "Magnus Forsberg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: [Gecko] Baby Gecko Immaculata >Date: Mon, 19 Nov 2001 18:40:55 +0100 > > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Anna Finkel" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Sent: Monday, November 19, 2001 2:42 PM >Subject: [Gecko] Baby Gecko Immaculata > > >Hi Anna, > >The academy award performance that you call it, is propably a serious >problem >for this little anolie. If looking at your picture I think I can se a kinked >tail. This is >one of many signs of improper calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D3 >balance.Sometimes >lack of or to much of other vitamins like A can also cause this.In >hatchlings the most >obvious sign is that the poor animal seizure if stressed, like from you >touching it.The >reasoon for this can be that the animales (parents) have not been given any >supplement, >or given to little. The last often result in week hatchlings at the end of >the seasoon when >the female have spent all her resorses to eggs earlier in the seasoon. > >Magnus > > > He's been in an aquarium for a few days while I'm deciding what to do >for > > the winter.
