Two of my animals are ill with the same general symptoms.

Female Ebanaui:
The first sign I had of trouble was that she dropped her tail. This is
a long
tailed ebanaui, which are not that common. The tail loss was about 3
months ago, and it has not regenerated. The symptom that concerns me is

that the back legs seem to be weak, and, when touched, the legs pull up
into a frog like position. When this happens, the feet grip up as if
the animal were forming fists. It takes her a considerable amount of
time to get the legs working again, and it seems to involve thrusting
what would, in a human, be the pelvis, forward and back multiple times.
Also, the muscles in the rear legs can be seen to be spasming.
I have tried heavy calcium supplementing, but I can only notice marginal

improvement. I believe the lack if tail regeneration is related to
whatever is ailing this animal. I have also added improved UV lighting.

Male phantasticus:
The first sign of trouble happened about one month ago when I touched
him.
His rear legs pulled up into the "frog like" position, and his tail
began to convulse
wildly. I emmediately began heavy calcium supplementing.
The condition has not improved, and is, in fact, worsening. I have
changed to
better UV lighting, and have continued to deliver calcium and D3 via
baby food.
I am very concerned that the rear legs are no longer receiving full
blood flow, as
they have turned black below the knee.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Is there a treatment that is
effective?

I could use your help on this one.
