So far, out here in the wilds of Seattle I'm feeling quite discouraged when it comes to shipping geckos in any responsible manner. I have yet to find a known Delta Dash shipper who is willing to piggyback my two shipments with one of theirs.
I'm happy for you and Jim C. that Continental seems to be working in your respective cities, but the only answer I get when phoning the Continental Airlines' Live Animal Line (800-575-3335), and when I look at their website: <www.continental.com> and then under Pets...listed in a large rectangle on their first page, then Live Animal Policy, then Known Shipper Form, is a repeat of the info that Continental is only taking warmbloooded animals at this time. It is very frustrating, because the conditions Continental is providing (climate controlled shipping heated to about 65F, and pressurized) are exactly what I am looking for!!! :-[ And I have spoken with one of the supervisors.
I have also tried UPS, Airborne, and Delta Dash. And USPS tells me (9/30/01) that the birds the only airline providing Overnight service into Seattle at this time have transported have arrived dead.
Wish there was something that could be done.
