I was looking at my R. Ciliatus this morning an noticed some sort of little
"pincher" bug in there. I could not catch him, as he burrowed down into the
dirt substrate. I dug around the base of the grapevine branch in there to
find him, and I unearthed several more! They seem to be eating the very tiny
white bugs that collect on the poop and his babyfood at times, but I am very
concerned about them being in there. I have no idea where they could have
come from. Do I need to clean out the entire tank and get rid of them? Will
they harm my gecko? They are a dark blackish redish color with a small set
of pincher things on their abdomen.
Thank you for any advice.
