I agree Magnus.  I find it highly hilarious that a certain individual crossed a ball python and a blood python and now sells the offspring for thousands.  What's even more hilarious is that both adult balls and bloods can be purchased for around the $100 mark, that is CB of course.    However, I feel that to each their own.  You won't see me keeping hybrids though.  The only thing I'm worried about is misrepresented animals.  If I'm wanting a ball python, green tree python, or a gray-banded kingsnake (a fraction of the known hybrids) I want a pure one.  I don't want a ball with blood python blood in it, a green tree python with carpet python blood in it or a gray-banded kingsnake with ruthven's kingsnake blood in it cause some greedy schmuck wanted an albino gray-band.   Just my feelings, Chris ----- Original Message ----- From: Magnus Forsberg To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, December 21, 2001 11:44 AM Subject: Re: [Gecko] interspecific breeding     Hi all,   I was supposed to go on Christmas holliday, but I just have to comment on this.   >I'm not aware of any Uroplatus hybrids, but there are some in Rhacodactylus.  R. chaohoua has been crossed with R. >cilliatus.  I think they look pretty cool.   I do not know of any crossbred Uroplatus, but as you said in Rhacodactylus it exists and also between Phelsuma species. As I assume averybody on this list also knows about a few snakes that have been crossbred and are sold for high prices.   I think the whole idea about crossbreeding species, and selling them for high prices is way out of line. It gets even moore serious when crossbred animales get into unexperiensed hands. We all know in wich direction the trade in animales are going. In a few years we will not be able to rely on wildcaught animales to get new bloodlines.Imagine a few years ahead, when you by for example R.chaohoua. How can you be sure thats what you get. What if these animales were crossbred a few generations back. If we start to crossbreed moore and moore species this hobby will soon be dead. Anyone thats interested in breeding reptiles should work for exactly the opposite. Keeping track of bloodlines and offspring, to ensure that people in the future will get a chance to by animales from healthy terrarium- populations.   Merry Christmas to you all. Magnus   Magnus
