Hello folks,

All this talk of unreliability of what you are buying is worrisome as is
the potential direction of herpetoculture. Has anyone given any thought
to maintaining a stud book for geckos? I realize to a certain degree
that this is a large undertaking, but the GGA seems to be well
positioned to maybe help coordinate something like this. Maybe we could
start with a genus test case -- I nominate Phelsuma.

I would definitely be interested in acquiring a gecko whose lineage is
documented over one that "I got from a friend of a friend ..." Could
this be another step forward for gecko herpetoculture?
