Yep, vestigial winged Drosophilia melanogaster (Not D. hydeii struveant) should be the right size.  I only have full-winged flies, kind of a long story that involved a boring biology video, a fruit fly battle, and a punishment.  If you deal with flying flies, stick them in the freezer to stun them.
