Bed-a beast has no nutritional value. Won't hurt them, but they would
eventually starve. Cornmeal would work, but I'd still put in the cut up
veggies. Dry dog or cat food has too much protein in it, IMO. Really...
wheat bran is probably cheaper than even corn meal, and the veggies
don't have to be extravagant. Carrots, sweet potato (don't like regular
potato), whatever you use in a salad, etc.. I wouldn't use a lot of
spinach or broccoli or anything with a lot of occalic acid (inhibits
calcium uptake), or iceberg lettuce (nutritionally worthless), but
really most things work well. Variety is also not a bad thing!
