Catriona,
 I have used 100% silicon (available at home depot, comes in a tube), with cut pieces 
of glass (Home Depot or Lowes may be able to do this for you), and a small aquarium 
underwater filter. 
 
 I just saw an easier, less elaborate idea, check out the recent Living Vivarium 
article in the March issue of Reptiles. I am thinking of using the method described in 
this article for a shorline vivarium. I think it would be great for my Ptychozoon 
kuhli and some Bombina orientalis (fire belly toads).
