Can someone help here? Liz has said that it's OK for me to forward her post to GGA's list for assistance with Picaso, her Madagascar gecko.

Hello. My name is Liz from Dayton, Ohio. I have just adopted my second gecko, he is Picaso, a Madagascar Gecko, and he came from an abusive home. He seems to have attached from me, he lets me hold him and runs from everyone else, but I am very concerned about him, I have had him for only 2 days, he is eating, he seems more happy, but I think he may have more problems then he shows, he is very thin and his tail was during his 7 month stay at the "bad home" (a pet store that I shall not name, they had no idea what he was etc.) its grown back some, but crooked at tiny, it looks like it was bit at by cage mates (he was kept with Leopard Geckos) I am wondering if this may be a reason why he isn't gaining or hasn't gained weight. I can see his ribs and his skin sags, you can tell he was once very healthy. I'm not sure of anything else it can be, he has been eating very well, but he is looking a! little worse. Do you think he will be worse before better? Or is the tail the problem? I have never had this problem before. Please help.
Sincerely,
Liz Smothers
