Title: Re: [Gecko] Undescribed Uroplatus....
Hi Robert,

This one is some form of U. sikorae, probably U. s. sikorae from
your description of the mouth. U. sikorae is quite variable in skin texture,
color and the amount of fringing on the tail. The "spiny Uroplatus" ones have a rounder
scalloped tail and a head shaped something like a a U. guentheri with extra bumps.
They have a somewhat flattened appearance.

I would definitely get 3 fecals run at 2 week intervals, imported Uroplatus
often have coccidia and other parasites. I've sometimes pocked up coccidia
after 3 or 4  clean fecals. Treat any open wounds with betadine and check with
a vet if they don't heal quickly.

Best of luck,
Neil

I think I picked up a female undescribed Uroplatus. The links to pics of her are below. She has a mouth (inside) the color of sikorae sikorae. She seems much more lichenous than usual sikorae like Neil's are. Mine also has a scalloped tail, but a different kind of scalloping. First off her tail is smaller and the scalloping is more triangular than the usual half-circles. Her skin is 3 dimensional in a way too. Instead of looking like a flat 2-D picture, the moss seems to "grow" off her skin. I hope you can tell by the pics. BTW, sik_body.jpg is just a pic of part of her body where it has more 3D texture (not noticeable though). And yes, there is an open wound on her face. On the last pic, only the top portion of her tail shows the scalloped part. The rest is folded from stress and dehydration, but the whole tail is scalloped. http://geocities.com/reptiluvr/images/f1sik.jpg http://geocities.com/reptiluvr/images/sik_body.jpg http://geocities.com/reptiluvr/images/sik_head.jpg http://geocities.com/reptiluvr/images/tail2.jpg
