Well, after a week of medicine and a $75 vet bill,
still no improvement. First, I moved back home for the summer and she
stopped taking her shed off. I was told then to soak her and take it off
for her. This cuased me to rip off her outer eye causing a temp blindness
and rawness. The vet gave me a topical drug and an oral drug to help her
heal. The medicine allowed her eyes to be moist enough to open them, a
very moist cage didn't do this though. She ate a little (2 crickets and .1
cc of Pedialyte). It's been about a week now since I stopped with the
medication. No improvement now though, she still won't open her eyes and
she doesn't move around at all. Because she won't eat, she hasn't had
anything but a little more Pedialyte since last Monday. I soaked her again
and used mineral oil to help remove some skin. This time I'm not taking it
off her face. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow to see what I can
do. I think this is all caused from the stress of moving. Also about
two weeks before I moved I started using spagnum moss instead of paper towels in
her hide box. Does ANYONE have any ideas or suggestions? If she
won't ever take off her shed and she won't eat, then she'll simply die. I
don't want this but with atleast $35 a vet visit, I can't afford to keep taking
my $55 gecko to get better. I am completely helpless and clueless. I
need help and so does she. Thank you in advance for any help.
