That is very sad :( I'm very sorry, Derek. I am sure the rest of the gecko gang here would strongly suggest using only paper toweling or reptile carpet as flooring for baby and young leopard geckos and other terrestrial young. Until they get better at hunting and are well established and supplemented they do have a tendency to lick up the sand. Again, I'm sorry, I would feel the same way, too.

Hi Tracy,
    I did try to find a humane way of putting him down because I do love my animals very much and it hurt that I wasn't going to have him for awhile, but the vet said it definitely was a blockage from sand he had been eating. I actually had gotten this gecko from Petsmart, but all my others have come from Petco which are doing great. Thanks you for responding it was hard letting him go even if I did have him for only about a month. I grew very attached and I hated giving him up.
