Hi,
I have two geckos one a fat tailed and the other a leopard gecko. I
acquired them in May. They were both rescues. After treating them for
parasites and some hand feeding they both seem to be doing well. I have
questions though. My fat tailed gecko has gone from being very skinny to
being quite fat. She may be gravid. Her tail is very fat. I have been
feeding her every evening as much as she will eat. Is that okay? Should I
like the number of food items? I feed her a variety of items, crickets
mainly, silkworms, butter worms, wax worms and meal worms. I tried
maggots, but no one seemed to like those. If she does produce eggs should
I not try to incubate them since she was on medication?
My second question is about the Leopard gecko. She ate well from the
beginning. Now she doesn't seem very interested in eating. She will,
however, eat wax worms. She doesn't like meal worms, or silkworms. She
will sometimes eat butter worms and sometimes crickets. Should I continue
to offer wax worms so she doesn't lose weight or should I only offer
crickets? Is it possible that she still has parasites? Should I have a
fecal done?
Finally, I have recently acquired a rescued cordylus. The specific
species is unknown. I an hoping to get a positive ID in a few weeks. I
have found one care sheet with information. Melissa Kaplan to be
exact. If anyone has any experience with these or can point me in the
right direction for finding out more about them I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Lisa H.
