The new Goniurosaurus was published in the most recent Journal of Herpetology.

Grismer, L. L., S. Haitao, N. L. Orlov and N. B. Ananjeva. 2002. A new
species of Goniurosaurus (Squamata: Eublepharidae) from Hainan Island, China.
Journal of Herpetology, 36(2): 217-224.

The paper states that it is most closely related to G. araneus and luii but
differs mainly in size and internal skeletal features. There are color
pictures and the adults look similar to Coleonyx switaki. The authors state
that it only exists in the mountains of the Bawangling Nature Reserve in
southwestern Hainan Island. They also think that the Goniurosaurus luii from
the island of Hainan and the same species from the China mainalnd may
actually be different species too. So there may be another new species of
Goniurosaurus on the way.
