I'm trying to identify some Hemidactylus I've caught here in Florida where I live. I've caught 3 different geckos that look basically similar with minor overall differences. One was caught in Miami, FL about 2-3 hours drive south of me. I'm pretty sure that gecko was Hemidactylus mabouia from checking out some pics. The gecko labeled H_home is H. garnotii and these are very common around my house. A few weeks after catching the Hemidactylus sp. in Miami, I found a standout Hemidactylus at my house, not like the ones I'm used to. This one was near adult size, but thickly banded. It looks a lot like the other H. garnotii around, but banded and with more tubercles. Here's a link to the pics, they should be able to lead in an identification for anyone that can.http://www.geocities.com/reptiluvr/HemidactylusThanks,Robert

Actually, the one labelled "H_home" is Hemidactylus frenatus, not garnotii. The tail of garnotii has a fringe down both sides, but no "whorl" of spines.

I think your wavy banded fellow is H. mabouia. But I'm having a very hard time telling which pics go with which animal. Is "H_banded" the same as "H_miami"? or are those 2 different beasts?
