Good idea, however, I don't think dropping a tail  from a direct cause is enough to kill a gecko. I have seen this happen in stress related deaths in all types of geckos. Possibly the female was stressed even though she did not look it. Your challenge will be to find out what the stressor(s) were, hopefully you can still get a necropsy done on the gecko. Let us know what you find out. Could be parasites, egg-binding, impaction, a ton of things, or simply stressed out by being with the other geckos. I would do gram weights on all and separate anyone who is not close to the weights of the same sex.
