He is in a 10 gallon aquarium so
there is no way he could have jumped out, and even if he could get to the
top, it was sealed shut. Anyone have ANY clue how he could have gotten out
and possible ways for retreiving him, if he's lurking about somewhere? I'd
like to find him before our cat does. :/

When this happened to me with a juvenile P.ornata, it turned out that it was still in the tank. Even though I had searched and I was convinced it had escaped.
Sometimes they are right in front of you- hidden in the open.
