I wanted to give an update on the situation. When I
got home this evening the baby had broken out of its membrane and was lying on
the gauze in amniotic fluid and yolk. I thought it was dead but it was breathing
a bit. So I rushed it to the vet. The vet removed the yolk sac and I have the
gecko back home again. It wiggles and squirms every now and then. I put it back
in the incubator and I'll leave it there until it stands on its own. I'm a
little worried about feeding since it has lost a large portion of food via yolk.
I'm a little nervous about humidity as well since the incubator is really
dry.
The situation doesn't look good but it doesn't look
particularly bad either.
Thanks for reading,
Mike
