Hi all. As promised, though a little late, here are two pics of my klemmeri tank. One is the frontal view (just after misters were on, so its not THAT humid all the time). Moisture on glass usually gone after about two hours, though with small water feature running down the root, it stays pretty humid in there (>70%). Mist like that comes twice a day. Next pic is of the top of the tank so that people can see my lighting arrangement. Thats two 65 watt compact fluorescents with two of the ~20 watt halogens as basking bulbs. Temp gradient obviously, with ~74 at the bottom, 95+ at top, depending on ambient, and where you measure (under the halogens is hotter, obviously).
Ive noticed that a few of the them like to start the day out at the lower areas, and get some humidity and water into their systems, then move toward the top. Most defication takes place right near the halogens, usually on the front glass (!).
Feeding is done thru the top, with fruit flies, a few termites, some lesser wax worms and of course baby food mix. Im working on getting the t-rex food, and will within the next few days. Specific to klemmeri, anyone have observations other than what Ive already heard about this food? Coloring or activity go up?
Anyway, hope this finds everyone in good health. PLEASE COMMENT FREELY ON MY SETUP, and any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. Ive got other photos too, just didnt wanna overwhelm anyones email....
Oh yeah, and I just wanted to get people observations on male aggressiveness in this species. Ive heard that they can be very aggressive, and Ive heard that they can be housed communally....Personal experience would be appreciated.
