Me too. Fortunately I don't have to be tied to the contingent sale for my new place, however, I would much rather sell this place and be done with it in a timely manner, especially since this is supposed to be a "sellers market" right now.Julie,
Funny that you mention it. I was just talking to my wife about that a couple of nights ago. We will probably buy another home when she finishes residency, and I have already started to wonder what in the heck I'm going to do with the gecko rooms when we show our house. Now I'm a little concerned.
Please keep us posted.
I sure will.
Do the potential buyers think that theNo, they are just freaked plain and simple. Granted my clientele is all yuppie, so maybe you won't have it so bad. Some additionally come from cultures that just don't understand reptiles as pets. You'd think someone could imagine that one room without geckos and figure a vaccum would get rid of the rest of the crix when I go! Because some crix inevitably get out, and some people freak out if they see one, I can't feed until night when I am not showing the place. The next morning I vaccum up as many as I can, there are not many. They always show up at the wrong time on my white walls though! The rest of the house is better than 90% of what is out there to look at as far as cleanliness and sparseness of stuff. We rented a second storage just to do that to make the place more attractive. That punctuates the reason for leaving, this house is too small. I found a place in the country that will work just fine, and there are no city ordinances to worry about!
geckos come with the house?
There is a smell to the gecko room, some complained about that. I don't smell it unless it is really bad as I work here at home. I purchased a nice citrus non-aerosol spray from my local Safeway that really wipes out the odor well without smelling like a hospital.
If you can relocate your geckos when you put your house up for sale you would be saving yourself a lot of frustration!

Anyone else had to do this? Potential buyers are really freaked out by my one bedroom of geckos. I live in a really desirable neighborhood where single detached one story homes are really rare in the price range we are asking. The house has been on the market only two weeks, however, hearing about this from the agents after folks have been here to look at the house is getting old already!
