G'day,

Do people on this list study/ observe geckos in the wild?
Chameleon Gecko, Charphodactylus laevis, and Leaf-tailed Gecko, Saltuarius
cornatus, frequent the patch of rainforest where I take nocturnal tours
looking for Lumholtz's Tree-kangaroos and possums. How and why do the
Leaf-tails co-ordinate the height at which they are hunting? Hunting is
maybe not the best word as they lie in wait, head down, to ambush their
prey.

With the cold winter we had last weekend (three ground frosts in a row!!!)
gecko sightings have been way down. Now it is warmer and raining they will
be out again but the tourists will spend their nights in restaurants and
around fireplaces.
Regards,
Alan
