Thanks Julie,

I appreciate your speedy reply.

No problemo! :)

Yes, my gecko is a leo. As of last night she
finally decided to gulp back a few little meal worms. She has put on a lot
of weight since I got her 3 months ago. The store she was purchased from
doesn't take care of their animals. She's really thrived since being here.

That is great, and also great of you to rescue her.

Thanks for addressing my concern, and I'll try weighing her once a week to
keep track of that too. What would you say a juvenile should weigh? I
believe my gecko is about 7 months old or so.

That would depend on where she is on the growth curve from her earlier set-back... I'd say at that age you would want to be in the 30+ gram range ideally. You can help this along with occasional wax worms.

Thanks again! Sarah

You are very welcome, nice to see the list being utilized for its purpose. :)

Subject: Re: [gecko]Worried about my gecko not eating

Hi Sarah,

Sounds like normal leopard gecko stuff to me, this is a leopard gecko-
correct? Being reptiles and all they do not have a need to eat daily and
can take several days off, even a week or more, if they are constantly
being fed. I'd say not eating for over a week is cause for some concern
in an adult leopard, two weeks definitely cause for serious concern.
Body weight tells the whole story and a scale and weighing the gecko
once week will ease nervous owners. :)
