Agree with Jon and other about following board protocols.
As for Samia, she sounds like she has potential. Herve, I suggest you
have her write up a proposal of ideas for the board to consider, and/or
have her appointed to work with you and the Leann/Greg team on the
website team so she can work in a supervised situation while we are
getting to know her.
Best,
Julie

Herve and all,
I'm not sure that Samia from Morocco should be included on any GGA
board discussions until she is properly introduced, the board
understands and approves what she is doing for the board/GGA and her
goals, and everyone agrees on it. If you should choose to have her
help you with your test site that you're developing, then that is
great, but to my understanding you have not confirmed whether or not
she is interested or capable of being a part of the future GGA web
team. I prefer for most of our items on the discussion table to be
held strictly with board members, as there is no telling what might be
contained at the bottom of any email that has been forwarded to Samia.
Best,
Jon

Hi all,
vrykolakas@.... is my friend Samia from Morocco, a website programmer
who has promised me free help for the new website. Sorry if I did not
mention her before. She speaks good English and perfect French.
Working for us would give her a great opportunity to show what she did
to her teachers. No wonder she can do better and faster than
Brittney's project (not meaning to be rude against Brittney, but I
showed Samia Brittney's work and she said she could do much better
than this).
Best,
Hervé

Thank you Leann! Speaking of who is on the list - Herve, who is
vrykola...@hotmail.de <mailto:vrykola...@hotmail.de> that has been on
your cc's?
Thanks,

The GGA List (now the GGA Board List) is just a mailing list.
All e-mails posted to gecko@lists.gekkota.com
<mailto:gecko@lists.gekkota.com> (maintained by the webserve that
hosts the GGA website) go to each person subscribed to the list.
Currently:
Julie
Jon
Charles
Herve
Leann
Neil
Melody
Alessio (I think he is on this list but he has not responded)
So all you have to do is hit "reply"
E-mail goes to gecko@lists.gekkota.com <mailto:gecko@lists.gekkota.com>
gecko@lists.gekkota.com <mailto:gecko@lists.gekkota.com> sends a
copy of the e-mail to those subscribed (listed above)
No more cc: or forgetting to put someone "to:"
E-mails can be directed to a separate folder on MSOutlook
Each post is automatically archived.
Those on the list have access to the archives at any time.
It's tidy
Can be private or public (board will be private)
The proposed forum can be the "public" access for all things GGA. I
think this is idea. (PS Financial can be published on the GGA forum!!!!)
Just me.
Keep in mind that this list is not yet private. Unvoted items and
discussions should be private until they are official.

okay, but as I am not familiar with board lists, you'll have to
explain me the basics in a few words. I would like to limitate the
daily amount of e-mails into people's inbox when some topic/thread
does not concern them.

I think the board list is a good idea. Naturally, it helps me sort my

Nice! Hervé.
This list is a private message list that automatically delivers to
everyone on the list (board members).
This was how the board used to communicate. The GGA had two lists:
The Gecko List and the Board List. The Board list was donated. The
GGA would have to pay about $10 a month to have a second list.
Since no one was using the Gecko List, it was converted (testing) for
Board Use. However, it is still public archives so this list is not
ready for Board use yet. Working on that.
Your new forum replaces the old GGA list which is outdated. Your
forum is prettier!

Leann,
I got this message. But why bothering making a Board list, unless I am
missing something, as I am making a forum for Board members and
members alike? Have you taken a look at it?

This is just a test. The GGA Board List is not yet functional.
Archives still need to be set up.
However, if you would just respond with a "hello" or another friendly
word, we'll be sure we are hearing from all the right people.
