I think having Euros for the European membership is a good idea. PayPal converts for them, correct?

I also have had an annoying feeling that folks do not realize what they are paying for as members exactly and how the costs are calculated, which could be explained quickly and efficiently by a strategically placed FAQ on our website. Part of this explanation, for me anyway, has to contain a definition of the GGA as a USA-based non-profit and exactly what that is. USA Tax deductions available through membership or contributions also need to be emphasized, and official letterhead should be provided for IRS verification either as a standard procedure, or by request of the donor.

On a separate but related marketing note: Many non-profits I have contributed to in the present or past send out a letter providing those interested to contribute in the month of December if they would like to get in a tax deduction for that calendar year.

Best,

Julie

I think we should set a base price that covers printing of the publications and add to that an estimate of the actual cost of mailing - both plus a small percentage to round out the numbers and for other expenses that come up, such as envelopes, re-mailings, etc. That way the US membership is not subsidizing foreign membership as it has in the past. Everyone pays their fair share.

Although it's nice to have no objections on the membership fee
    increase, I
    really think input is necessary.

Memberships are a big contact the GGA has with it's members. If the
membership structure is confusing or problimatic, we loose members.

How would you react to this structure?

Would a simple two price system work: International membership $45,
    American membership $40?

Maybe by currency : GGA Member - USD $40, Euro 30?

    Think, think.
