I've added some code that tries to find all directories you have defined
in ~/.gEDA/gafrc and ./gafrc and lets you choose one when you first
start the program. The program will now even add a new
(component-library ...) entry for you to one of these files if you want.

I would like to add that, but I'm not sure how should I start the web
browser in a platform independent way. GTK doesn't offer a widget for
this and I don't want to use GNOME extensions.

How does GSchem do that?

I don't want to have another "ok" button to click each time I want to
download a symbol.

Do you usually download your symbols to more than one directory?

Best regards
