I'd concur was it not for the fact that Guile 1.8 might have portability issues. Actually, Guile builds fine for windows (not like 1.6).. but libgmp is rather tricky. (I can't recall if it was on Windows or PPC Macs which it failed to pass its tests on, but I remember there were some issues. I concur, but would be pretty happy with GTK+ 2.6 as a requirement. 2.8 would be better of course.
