Well, then, one of the things I'll do is fix the auto-save code to
treat the returned hidval as completely opaque, keeping its own state
as necessary.  Expect patches once I get copius enough spare time.
(This past weekend was unusual in that I had half of Saturday and most
of Sunday entirely to myself, and could go heads-down over pcb.)

Ah yes, I forgot that HIDs can call other HIDs.  I've been so focusing
on building my new GUI HID that I forgot multiple HIDs can get used
within a single run.  Thanks for the clonk with the cluestick.
