*chuckle* Probably done by some sorehead who wanted to portray the project as consisting of a bunch of windows haters to further his own anti-free software agenda. Also, if we're being rubbished by somebody, it means that we are important enough to attract the attention of cranks. That's arguably a good thing, although getting praise is better than being attacked, I agree. > I've now edited this (originally added anonymously by someone who wasn't > logged in), and I hope that I've fairly put across the gEDA project's > position on the matter. > > http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=GEDA&diff=253196488&oldid=247881309 > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GEDA Thank you for doing this cleanu work! But why say anything about windows at all? The less said about it, the better since we're not ready to give it full support. At the very least, I wouldn't dedicate an entire section to windows. Maybe a sentence or two, suggesting that folks *have* been able to compile the project on Windows, but it's not a main goal of the gEDA Project. Also, gEDA seems to have become the defacto choice for Mac users. I would emphasize the fact that it works great on the Mac rather than devote lots of space to Windows. I'll be proactive and try to update the article this weekend. After I put the big spec on the wiki..... > PS.. does anyone know if we can rename the GEDA part of that URL to "gEDA"? No, I belive Wikipedia renormalizes the capitalization. It's outside of our control IIRC.
