Hi again Peter -- > Speaking of edits, I've added a comment to the discussion page for the EDA > article, proposing that more neutral screen-shots be used (represent > different software, or remove captions identifying them etc..) > > See the bottom of this page: > > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Electronic_design_automation
*chuckle* The Kicad folks have been doing a marketing blitz for a long time. I've observed their graphics on this page many times. The way I see it, Kicad is a fellow open-source project, and so they are our friend, not our competitor. If they want to blitz the world with info about their work, bully for them. After all, they *do* support windows, so they can have the pleasure of handholding the sniveling, unwashed masses. (And they're welcome to it, IMO.) The right thing to do is simply put a few gEDA screenshots onto the wikipedia article, alongside the Kicad ones. Why ask? ISTR that you had some really nice screenshots of PCB, gschem, and even gerbv running on a Linux platform. Please remind me where they are, and I will be happy to edit the Wikipedia article over the weekend.
