Andrew Bardsley's done it before..I believe he got 2.x running on his mac laptop so it's definitely doable. (that said, look at the 2.x configure scripts...) For 1.3.50, you might have to mess with the configure script, but the only outside package dependency "should" be gtk. libz and libbz2 are both in the tarball, though if you've installed IV, you already have both of them. Anyway, one of these days I do have to update the autoconf stuff. It's been years since I've regenerated it--the last time I messed with it was for mingw. -t
