<troll> May I humbly make a suggestion that you forget about C++ because like Java, its already old hat, bypass the current hot language like Python and Ruby because you are behind the trend on those and jump straight to the future of programming languages by learning Ocaml [0] and/or Haskell [1]. </troll> For prespective, I have a couple of well know FLOSS libraries written in C, do most of my daytime paid coding in C++ (which I consider an abomination), have been using Ocaml for much of my own stuff for about 3 years now, and I am gradually getting Ocaml into my workplace which is working out really well.
