There is no "official" way because it's a physics problem, not a software problem. Do whatever seems to work for you.
You can use one element's pins to snap another element to match it's off-grid placement, for example, or draw a trace first and snap an element to it's endpoint. But most of the time you just put a jog in the trace halfway between the elements, so they each get a trace going straight in.
