So, my env is a fresh FC 16, recent upgrade from FC 15.

i pulled the tarball, config'd, make and an install with bindir=~/bin so I
could see my built version separate from default.

i fired up my built version and it seemed ok at first blush.

From your comment, I expected some bumps in this first step, but it
built clean and ran fine.

what should have have noticed that i did not?

I am going to dig a bit deeper now and see what i can learn about
libchamplain
so i can better understand the issues. the issue is largely api's ?

Thx, jackc...
