An estimated 150,000 hard-line Muslim demonstrators on November 4 have again demanded the immediate arrest of Jakarta's Protestant governor over allegations of blasphemy. Demonstrators marched from Istiqlal Grand Mosque to the presidential palace in the Indonesian capital calling for the arrest of Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, popularly known as Ahok. Banners read, "Uphold justice, arrest Ahok the blasphemer," "Arrest Ahok for insulting Islam!" and "Kill Ahok." The demonstrators also demanded that President Joko Widodo not protect Ahok who is an ethnic Chinese Protestant.
