Contrary to popular belief, this is *not just about the seasonal flooding*. Jakarta is sinking by about *5 to 10 cm each year* and up to* 20 to 25 cm *in northern Jakarta. From 2000s to 2050s the potential coastal flood extent is estimated to increase by 110.5 km² due to both land subsidence and sea-level rise if the trend continues. If this still going on, Jakarta will *not *be able to* continue business as usual.* There is only one way Indonesia can do to solve this problem, and to make sure Jakarta will be saved. *National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD)* A Giant Sea Wall <https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_Sea_Wall_Jakarta> in Jakarta bay will be build closing the whole bay with an opening to the seaport. Pumps will be built along the wall. Pumping the salt water out, and soon the closed bay will be filled with fresh water running from the rivers of Jakarta. The whole NCICD Mater Plan integrate the Giant Sea Wall, 17 Jakarta Reclamation Islands (Red), NCICD Garuda Islands (Grey), Tanjung Priok Port NCICD Expansion (Orange) The Government of Jakarta has been planning on this and the project is set to start building by 2025.
