It is popular and famous*,* but in a negative way. Here in the country, you can do a Nazi salute style or you wear a T-shirt with a big Nazi sign in a public area and nobody will care. You can even stand next to a cop and wear a jacket with a Nazi Swastika sign and the cop won’t even look at you. You can put a Nazi Swastika logo on your car’s hood and drive it through the city and nobody will care about it. But I strongly advise you not to walk around in a public area wearing a T-shirt with a Communist logo because you’ll get into serious trouble. People who see you doing that will immediately call the cops and you’ll be arrested and interrogated. Communism is still viewed as evil by most Indonesians due to facts that happened in 1965 where a communist movement tried to change the country’s ideology by violent acts. The communist party had been banned and any ideology related to communism is not allowed in Indonesia even until today. *A foreign tourist was arrested by Indonesian authority because his shirt had a communist logo.* 12k views · View Upvoters <https://www.quora.com/#> · View Sharers <https://www.quora.com/#> · Answer requested by James Dickinson <https://www.quora.com/profile/James-Dickinson-59> Upvote· 235236 <https://www.quora.com/#> Share· 1 <https://www.quora.com/#> <https://www.quora.com/#> <https://www.quora.com/#> <https://www.quora.com/#> <https://www.quora.com/#>
