One of his friends forwarded his message to the wider Chinese Internet. - The late Dr. Li was not sanctioned by Chinese authorities. They gave him either a written warning or a stern talking to for spreading rumors. He was not jailed or fired or sanctioned in any way. He was able to went back to work where unfortunately he contracted the coronavirus and eventually passed away. Dr Li was a ophthalmologist (eye doctor), so he had no business looking into the medical records of pneumonia patients. Nor was he qualified to diagnose these patients. Then again, laws regarding patient privacy are quite lax - still doesn’t make it right.
