Hi Andreas,

Thanks for replying!
With help of the wiki, I have configured gem5 and with the compiled DVFS-enabled linux, able to see frequency scaling happening as mentioned in section "Test DVFS functionality". But this testing involved me changing some frequency scaling parameter interactively through the shell after boot in simulation.

However, now I want to run a workload (benchmark) with DVFS enabled and collect stats with automatic scaling decision being made by linux kernel on-the-fly. I tried running BBench but facing issues with that. I am attaching my e-mail in which I have mentioned problems I faced while running BBench. Or you could directly read it here : http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.m5.devel/23563

Please let me know which benchmark I should try and point me to some resource for the same.

Thanks
Lokesh.

Hi Lokesh,

I assume you have found:

For Linux that should get you a good bit on the way. What are the issues
you are facing?

Andreas

Hello,

I want to run some *CPU intensive benchmark in FS mode on ARM* in gem5.
The intent is to first make sure that DVFS implementation and
configuration is functional followed by evaluation of DVFS policies. I
had a look at SPEC benchmark, BBechmark pages but facing issues while
running them. Can anyone suggest some benchmark that can be useful in
this case and not involve a lot of effort to run? I would really
appreciate if someone here could point me to some good resource.

Thanks
Lokesh Jindal.
