Subject: Remote GDB: rationalize structure of register offsets

Hi Palle,

Would you mind confirming that the change proposed in
http://reviews.gem5.org/r/3207/
works for you?

will give it a try - no ETA though...

Also, would it be too much to ask you to explain how you were actually testing the SPARCv9 path?  I
have several scenarios with 32-bit SPARC programs and SPARCv8 and gdb-7.10 compiled with
"--target=sparc-linux-gnu" which work fine, but in more than one SPARCv9 setup, gdb
compiled with "--target=sparc64-sun-solaris2.8" behaves in crazy ways (such as e.g.
interpreting GPRs as 32-bit).  Could you provide more details about how your gdb is set up?

gdb:

I've been using gdb 7.8:

GNU gdb (GDB) 7.8

This GDB was configured as "--host=x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu --target=sparc64-sun-solaris2.8".
Type "show configuration" for configuration details.

gem5:

I'm using gem5-stable (not gem5).

/Palle
