I'd also like to express my support for moving to GitHub. Our team is already using the gem5 GitHub mirror as the upstream for our internal development. Officially moving to GitHub would simplify all aspects of the development process as it relates to everything other than simply keeping in sync with upstream (e.g., issue tracking, recontributing code, code reviews).
