Hi Waheed,

There is no virtualized Ethernet, so unfortunately you are "trapped" in the
simulator. If you want to simulate networked systems, you can set up a
two-system config with Ethernet in between. This is useful to evaluate
server/client setups.

Subject: [gem5-users] Bring up network

Hi All,
I have set up a FS simulation on android on ARM and Now I want to ping some
network address or internet site. How can i do that?

on m5term, when I ping (say www.yahoo.com<http://www.yahoo.com>)
I get : ping: bad address 'www.yahoo.com'

ifconfig returns only lo:

and by the way, how can I stop pinging 127.0.0.1 :)
it is not stopping when I press ctrl-c
even if I close the terminal or kill the m5term process and bring m5term back
on, the ping continues.

thank you
Waheed
