The checkpoint has been created after the binary has been run. The current processor and memory state of the benchmark loaded and executing is saved in the checkpoint.

In the document "Running Parsec 2.1 with m5" it says that to restore from a checkpoint, we use a command like this: > ./build/ALPHA_FS/m5.opt ./configs/example/fs.py --detailed --caches --l2cache --checkpoint-restore=1 -n $numProcs > > This command does not involve the runscript (.rcS script) we use to take the checkpoint. I am taking the checkpoint upon entry to ROI (during benchmark execution). How does the simulator know which benchmark binary to run with which options/inputs etc. in this case? Is it stored somehow in the checkpoint directory? It may be a very simple question, but I want to be sure that I am not doing something meaningless. > > Best, > Fulya > > _______________________________________________ > gem5-users mailing list > [email protected] > http://m5sim.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gem5-users [1] Links: ------ [1] http://m5sim.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gem5-users
